READING: Psalm 139

. . . even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is as bright as the day, for darkness is as light to you. Psalm 139.12

I am not a writer. I do however have a wonderful feeling about God. He is always with us. I have been in a serious car accident in which I remember nothing. I don't remember the actual accident or the hospital stay. I think God did that for me; actually he did so much for our entire family. It was our oldest daughter's 13th birthday. We had been out to eat and we were on our way home to open a few presents. A charter bus ran a red light and hit us. As I said, I remember nothing. The light God was showing that night was that our three kids were not hurt. It was dark outside, and it was raining.

There was no dark that night for them. God had light shining on all three of them. For days in the hospital I was told that of course many people were praying and visiting. One day while Pastor Bushey was visiting, he asked me if I wanted to pray and I said yes. Then he took my hands and I was told that all of a sudden I said "Pastor, Pastor I can see, I can see!" No one even knew that I couldn't see, all of a sudden I could see. There must have been darkness in my time of recovery and yet of course there was light as well. God is just an awesome God. Even when we think or know that things aren't going well, we are having a difficult time, we do know that God is with us, he has a plan for us. His light was with my family and everyone else who was around us.

PRAYER: Dear Father God, thank you so much for being there for us, thank you so much for loving us, thank you so much for sending your dear son Jesus for us. Help us remember that your light shines all the time, help us to remember to you so that your light can shine on us. Amen. Susan W. C.
