Minister of Music - Donald Martin
Donald B. Martin is our full-time Minister of Music. Don and
his wife Julie live in Decatur, Illinois with their four children:
Zachary, David, Avery Rose, and Seth. Don and Julie Martin both
hold degrees from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis,
one of our denomination's five seminaries.
Don is a native of Ontario, Canada and holds an Indiana Teacher
Certificate K-12 from Marian College (1989) in Indianapolis,
an M.A. in Communication (1985) from Christian Theological Seminary
in Indianapolis, a Certificate in Theological Studies (I980)
from Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminaries in Elkhart, Indiana,
a B.A. in Choral Conducting and Voice (1977) from Goshen College
in Goshen, IN 1977, and a Certificate of Enrollment (1979, 1977,
1973) from Saratoga-Potsdam Choral Institute, State University
of New York.
Don served as Associate Pastor of the Mennonite Church of
Normal (1991-1997), a teacher at Blooming Grove Academy in Bloomington,
IL (1996-1997), Minister of Music at First Christian Church in
Lafayette, IN (1987-1991), Director of Music and Drama Troupe
for the Mennonite Board of Education in Elkhart, IN (summer 1989),
a Technical Associate at Repertory Theatre at CTS, Indianapolis,
(1985-89), teacher of high school music at Rockway Mennonite
Collegiate (1980-83), choir director at Goshen City Church of
the Brethren, Goshen, IN (1978-1980, 1976-1977), Camp Director
for Hidden Acres Camp, New Hamburg, Ontario, Canada (summer 1984),
and Assistant Director, Camp McGovern (Big Brothers), Orangeville,
Ontario, Canada (Summer 1982)
