Lifting Spirits, Giving Hope, Healing Hearts: Our Four-Footed Therapists
On September 11, 2002, the community was invited to join in a very special observance in honor of the victims and rescue workers of the terrorist attacks of one year ago. Sharon Andrews and other members of our local Delta Society, were present with their therapy dogs to talk about the general work of therapy dogs and specifically about the important role these dogs have played in healing hearts in the aftermath of the tragedies. Several trainers were available with their dogs and a moving slide show was presented remembering the victims and rescue workers (two-footed and four-footed) who have become true heroes.
