Seeking Mountain pictures

Climb Every Mountain

To help commemorate our new sermon series, “The Mountains are Calling,” we would like to put together a slide show to be played on a rotating loop on the monitors in the Friendship Center and Connection Café, as well before the 9:00 a.m. worship service, over the next two weeks.  We would like you to send us your favorite mountain picture.  An electronic file would be easiest (email to ), but if you have a physical copy, you can bring it by the office, and we’ll scan it for you.  We would also like to know the following information for the slide:

Where were you? (where was the mountain?)

When was it? (what was the date?)

Here are two examples of something you can send.  These are from my life.  The first picture was taken by me in July of 1992.  It is a village in the Alps in southern France.  I was there leading a group of youth from East Germany on a white water rafting and hiking trip.  The second picture was also taken by me.  Steve Baumann (a member of our church) is looking out on the mountains in north Georgia.  This was taken in 2014 during a weekend when 6 of us from Central hiked part of the Appalachian Trail.

Christcare Stitchers Celebrate Their 20th Anniversary!

February 2020 marks the 20th anniversary for the Christcare Stitchers, with Ernestine Mrozinski as leader. Six women began knitting and quilting blankets for children. Today, the group meets every Tuesday morning and is comprised of 35+ women and men of various faiths. They knit, crochet, and make quilts from fabric or fleece. In July 2004, our 1,000th blanket was blessed, and in December 2019, almost 19,000 blankets have been given to Project Linus for children in crisis. We have been blessed by the fellowship and the sharing experienced in Stitchers.
