A Family that Grows Together
Let the message about the Messiah dwell richly among you, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, and singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, with gratitude in your hearts to God.
Colossians 3:16
We offer a variety of small group opportunities at Central.
Sunday School
We currently have one active adult Sunday school classe. The Ecclesia Class follows a more traditional bible study and meets on Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. Please call the church office at 217-428-4336 if you are interested in learning more about our classes.
Men's and women's groups
We have two men’s bible study groups that meet weekly called Journeymen. The Tuesday meeting is 7-8 a.m. and the Thursday meeting is from 4:15-5:15 p.m. Both groups meet in the Connection Café.
Women’s Book Club – two different book clubs meet monthly at Panera on the north side of town. Monday’s group is over the noon hour and the Tuesday group meets in the early evening (this group is currently on break for the summer). There are also other women's groups that meet periodically; Dorcas Disciples is one of these groups.
See the Men's Ministry and Women's Ministry pages for more information.
Periodic small groups
Periodically we offer small group options for 4-6 weeks which coincide with whatever 4-6 week sermon series were undertaking. Most recently this was a book study of Adam Hamiltons’ book “Enough.”
Seasonal small groups
During Lent (Spring) and Advent (December) we often offer small groups. In December 2017 we offered a small group based on the book “The Highways of Advent.”
Interest and Fellowship groups
We also offer small group options that coincide with particular interests. Among them include:
- Chancel choir
- Bowling
- Sewing
- Preparing meals
