Liturgists Needed

Wanted: Liturgists

Central is looking for more liturgists to serve in either Traditional or Contemporary worship. Liturgists help usher people into a worshipful mindset by leading a prepared Call to Worship during the service. They also write their own invocation prayer that is read before the Lord’s prayer. Training available! For more information, contact Pastor Michael.

Baptisms Again This Week!

On Easter Sunday, Emmy Osman and Cohen Irby (pictured left) were baptized at our 10:30 service.  This Sunday, Clara Damery and Clara Monroe (right) will be baptized as well.  Since Clara and Clara attend the 9:15 a.m. service, their baptisms will take place around 10:00 a.m.  The 9:15 service will end a bit early and then the congregation will come upstairs for the baptisms (in our baptistery).  If you do not normally attend the 9:15 service but would like to join us in the sanctuary for the baptisms at 10:00, feel free to do so.

Lenten Devotional Books

Our theme for Lent this year is “Journey with the Psalms” and is based on the work Pastor Michael did last summer on his sabbatical.  During that time, he wrote devotions for 30 of the more well-known Psalms and compiled them into a devotional book.  Copies will be available beginning the first Sunday of Lent, February 18.  Feel free to pick one up.  If you would like a copy mailed to you, please let us know.

Drivers Wanted

With the onset of the Covid pandemic, we naturally suspended our program of offering rides to Sunday worship. But two years later, we have people who would like to come to worship but are unable to do so due to age, health, and/or some combination of the two.  If you are willing to be a volunteer who brings someone to and from worship (on either a regular or periodic basis), we would love to know who you are.  Please contact the church office and let us know.  You would need only to:

  • Tell us which service you prefer to attend, and we would match you up with someone who would like to attend that service.
  • Provide us a copy of your driver’s license and proof of personal auto insurance.

Many thanks for considering.  The people who want to come to worship but are unable to, really want to come, and this will no doubt be a blessing to them.
